So, in an effort to be realistic, *cough, cough*, if I could get my hands on a little clay this year, I'd be one happy chappy. And, Lordy, if anything came out of the kiln looking as half decent as the items below, I'd be ecstatic.
I'm potty for interesting garden pots, and love that the shape and glaze of these hanging pots. And, please, please, please, if you're as much a basketcase over woven things as I am, click the image source to see a perfect combination of pottery and basketweaving.

Crispy french toast sounds delicious but what really caught my eye was that plate and the ceramic mug. Warm, chunky, hearty - all words that come to mind. I'm not sure I can skill up to throwing plates and mugs by the end of the year, but here's hoping I might be able to use the colours for glaze inspiration.

Ooo... Can't wait to see your creations. I love imperfect pots, they have such personalities in them. For this year, I would really like to draw more and sew more, which I guess is what I want to do every year.

ReplyDelete...I hear you! Ive already printed out 3 creative courses Id like to do this year...I need to pull the reigns in, one thing at a time!
But Id defn like to experiment with Mixed Media messy collage style art this year, I think a short fun course would be something I want to do!

Happy new year! Those hanging pots are glorious, and a very worthy aim for the year. One of my more practical goals for the year is a little less artistic - I want to learn to do a REALLY good whistle with two fingers in my mouth. The aim is that by the end of the year I should be able to hail a taxi with it, get someone's attention, or cheer on a band without disrupting the beer in my other hand - clearly I've got some noble goals for 2013!
